Keywords:
Halal e-commerce, digital Islamic economy, Sharia-compliant business models, halal regulations, digitalizationAbstract
This study examines the role of digitalization in the development of the Islamic economy, particularly within the halal e-commerce ecosystem. Using a qualitative research approach based on document analysis, the study explores various digital business models in the Islamic economy, including Sharia-compliant marketplaces, Islamic crowdfunding, Islamic fintech, blockchain-based smart contracts, and halal subscription services. The findings indicate that digitalization accelerates the growth of the halal industry through technological innovation and expanded market access. However, challenges such as inconsistent regulations and limited digital literacy remain significant obstacles. More integrated halal regulations and standardization are needed to ensure transparency and trust within the digital halal ecosystem. In conclusion, collaboration between governments, industry players, and academics is essential to develop policies that support the growth of the digital Islamic economy. Future studies may explore the impact of emerging technologies such as Web3 and the metaverse on the halal industry.
