Abstract

This literature review explores the internalization of responsibility values in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) through an affective-domain approach. The study analyzes theoretical perspectives on the affective domain, concepts of value internalization, and the roles of curriculum design and teachers in cultivating students’ sense of responsibility. The review highlights instructional strategies such as project-based learning, cooperative learning, religious reflection, habituation practices, and teacher modeling as effective means of fostering affective engagement. The findings indicate that affective-oriented learning, which emphasizes attitudes, values, emotions, and moral awareness, plays a crucial role in transforming cognitive understanding into sustainable responsible behavior. Supporting factors include contextualized learning materials, relevance to students’ real-life experiences, consistent exemplary behavior from teachers, and formative assessments that capture changes in attitudes. This study recommends the systematic integration of affective strategies into PAI lesson planning, strengthening teacher competence in character education, and developing valid instruments for assessing affective learning outcomes to support holistic character formation.
